BOARD OF DIRECTORS' MEETING


OBJECTIVES
  1. Interact with the Board of Directors in SST.
  2. Share with them your learning experiences here in SST.
  3. Learn from them their aspirations and how they can become so successful today.
WHO ARE OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS?
  1. Dr. Su Guaning - Chairman, Board of Directors, SST/ President, Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

  5. Mr Danien Chee - President, Cabal Entertainment Software Pte. Ltd.

  7. Mr Quek Gim Pew - Chief Executive Officer, DSO National Laboratories
  8. Prof Seah Hock Soon - Professor, Division of Computing Systems, School of Computer Engineering, College of Engineering, NTU

TASKS
  1. Each class's chair and vice chairman will do a research online to find out more about our Board of Directors. Class 1-01 will research on Dr Su Guaning, Class 1-02 will research on Mr Chia Mia Chiang and the rest of the class continues.
  2. You may want to find out on the following: what does the company / institution do? what is the role they play in the company? other interesting educational findings about them?
  3. After you have found out about them, craft 3 questions that you wish to ask the Board of Directors when you meet them.
  4. Do a 3 slide- presentation to present your findings and the crafted questions and share with all of us next Thursday, 4 March 2010.
WHAT WILL YOU DO ON 22nd MARCH 2010?
  1. On 22nd March 2010 (Monday), you will interact with the Board of Directors over lunch. Brainstorm ideas on what you and your friends here can do to showcase or tell the Board of Directors about your learning experiences here.
  2. Morphological Matrix for brainstorming (5 minutes): Factors for brainstorming include: Form of Presentation/ Content of Presentation/ Method of Presentation.
  3. From the Matrix of Ideas you all have generated, choose a number and see what combinations of interesting ideas you can generate from the matrix.

  1. We can show a skit representing our journey so far in SST as well as its major events. Like for example, the first day we came here, the Amazing Race, Camp, Badge Ceremony etc. Then we can also show interesting happenings in our class like the activities prepared by our teachers to teach us lessons as well as showing us applied learning.

  2. We could have a class photo given to a particular director, e.g. 1-01 gives Dr Su Guaning a class photo of 1-01. The class photo could be a mixture of many pictures, as in each student takes a picture of themselves and sends it all to a particular student who will collaborate and print it oout as a photo of the class

  3. We can make a video of what we are learning, how is applied learning different then other schools, we can also also create a skit of how united SST is, the days worth celebrating, the unity of the classes.

  4. We can do a iMovie project, digital storytelling to showcase our learning experience in SST as iMovie is a application we have been using for our lessons recently.

    We can design something digital, interactive as a gift for our board of directors.

  5. We can have an iMovie of us saying about our ideas, experience so far with our friends and teachers, during the camp, its activities and thus collaborate all in an order of classes and show them on that day.

  6. We can use keynote and iMovie to make a presentation and a movie. We can also perform a skit.

  7. For the presentation we can do a keynote presentation. For the gift we can give him a photo of our leaders committee. It would be better to create the presentation and do the rehearsal by 1st of march.
